Some customers may complain that the edges of the carpet are exposed at the door opening locations.
Variations in carpet trim height and/or variations in carpet installation may cause the carpet to come out from behind the hinge pillar garnish molding assembly and/or rear side door opening floor carpet retainer assembly. Vehicle built after the above breakpoint have an additional 15mm of material added to the bottom edge of the hinge pillar garnish molding assembly and rear side door opening floor carpet retainer assembly for better carpet coverage.
Replace the hinge pillar garnish molding assembly and/or the rear side door opening floor carpet retainer assembly in the area of the customer's complaint. (Refer to "hinge Pillar Garnish/Sill Molding" or "Rear Carpet Retainer -- Sedan/Wagon" procedure in the appropriate year Body/Repair Service Manual.)
