Input Shaft Disassemble

  1. Remove the input shaft to the converter O-ring and remove the input shaft to the stator shaft bearing.
  2. Remove the input shaft to stator shaft seals. Use care not to scratch the shaft.
  3. Remove the 2nd/reverse thrust bearing. Use care not to scratch the shaft surfaces.
  4. Remove the 2nd/reverse gear.
  5. Remove the 2nd/reverse gear needle bearing.
  6. Remove the 2nd/reverse gear thrust bearing.

  7. Place press support under the 2nd/3rd gear clutch housing. Press off the following components:
    1. 2nd/reverse gear needle bearing race
    2. 2nd/reverse drive gear thrust washer
    3. 2nd/3rd gear clutch housing

  8. Remove the 2/3 clutch housing thrust washer.
  9. Remove the clutch side 3rd drive gear thrust bearing.
  10. Remove the 3rd drive gear.
  11. Remove the 3rd drive gear thrust bearing.
  12. Remove the 3rd drive gear needle bearing.
  13. Remove the three O-ring clutch seals from their grooves on the shaft.
