Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the nuts from the combination valve studs.
2. Remove the nuts from the exhaust manifold studs.
3. Remove the combination valve/air pump solenoid assembly studs and gasket.
4. Remove the air pipe.

Installation Procedure

Important

Installation steps must be performed in sequence.

Important

Ensure the gaskets are installed correctly or a leak will occur. If the gaskets are removed from the studs, replace with new gaskets.

1. Install the air pipe onto the exhaust manifold studs.
2. Install the air pipe into the rear air compressor bracket slot.
3. Install the air pump solenoid/combination valve assembly studs into the air compressor bracket through the air pipe flange holes.
4. Install and torque the nuts on the combination valve studs.
Tighten

Tighten the combination valve stud nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

5. Install and torque the nuts on the exhaust manifold studs.
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold stud nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
