Heater Return Hose
Removal Procedure

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Engine Coolant Check and Replacement
.
- Remove the windshield washer bottle.

- Remove the clamp and thermostat hose from the end of the heater return pipe.
Caution
Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned.
To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support
for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.
- Raise the vehicle.

Caution
Protect skin and eyes from coolant that may be left in the pipe
and hose. Wear safety goggles.
- Remove the clamp and heater hose from the cylinder block near
the thermostat housing.
Installation Procedure

- Install the heater hose and clamp to the cylinder block near the thermostat
housing. Position the clamp at 6 o'clock.
- Lower the vehicle.

- Install the hose and clamp to the heater return pipe. Position the clamp at
1 o'clock.
Notice
Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

- Install the windshield washer bottle.
TightenTightenthe washer bottle attachment bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Fill the cooling system and leak check. Refer to
Engine Coolant Check and Replacement
.
- Install and tighten the coolant surge tank cap.
