Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Place a suitable support between the hood and the air inlet grille panel. Mark around the hood hinge with soft marker for installation. Remove the hinge bolts and the hinge.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the hinge to the vehicle. Align the hinge to the locating marks. Apply 3M® Bedding and Glazing Compound (P/N 8509) or equivalent to the threads of the bolt.

Notice

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install and tighten the bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the head hinge-to-body bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

3. Remove the hood to air inlet grille panel support and lower the hood slowly.
4. Check the hood fit. Adjust the hood if required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
Tighten

Tighten the head hinge-to-hood bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

5. Close the hood.
