Removal Procedure

1. Raise the hood.
2. Disconnect the cable from the latch. Note the routing of the hood cable in the engine compartment for installation.
3. Tape a 2 meter (7 ft) length of wire to the latch end of the cable.




4. Inside the vehicle at the bottom of the dash, remove the screw and lower the filler assembly instrument panel steering column opening.




5. Note the routing of the cable under the dash for installation. Disconnect the cable from the release handle and pull the cable to the interior of the vehicle, through the cowl grommet and remove the cable from the feeder wire.

Installation Procedure

1. Tape the feeder wire onto the end of a new cable.
2. Pull the cable through the cowl grommet into the engine compartment using the feeder wire.
3. Remove the feeder wire from the hood release cable.
4. Connect the cable to the release handle.
5. Install the lower filler assembly instrument panel steering column opening.




6. Connect the cable to the hood latch.
7. Check the hood latch cable operation prior to closing the hood.
8. Close the hood.
