
Important
The rod retaining clips used in the door lock levers and door lock pawls are
not reusable. Retention characteristics are minimized once a rod is extracted. The
clips must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.
- If installing the old door latch, replace all of the rod retaining clips installed
in the door latch levers.
Notice
Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the door latch with new screws or apply Loctite 242® , or
equivalent, on the old screws.
TightenTighten the door latch-to-door fasteners to 11 N·m (98 lb in).
- Connect the power lock actuator wiring harness, if equipped.
- Install the rods to the door latch.
- Install the lock rod to the retainer clip on the inside door structure.
- Temporarily install the inside door handle and rods.

- Adjust the lock actuator rod with the lock lever on the door lock and lock button
in the locked position:
- If equipped with an adjustable nut, rotate the nut until it reaches the
lock lever with no tension and install to the lock lever.
- If equipped with an adjustable clip, remove the clip from the rod and
install to the lock lever.
- Install the rod to the clip with no tension.
- Check the door lock operation and remove the inside door handle.
Important
Check for proper adjustment. There should be no tension on the pivot or door
lock.
- Connect the outside handle rod and lock cylinder rod to the door latch.

- Install the door window. Refer to

- Install the speaker assembly.
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door
