Quarter Panel Replacement - Bolt On Wagon

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper in Bumpers.
2. Remove the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.




3. Remove the rear wheelhouse panel outer plastic fasteners. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear .




4. Remove the rear and next 2 plastic fasteners on the rocker panel cover to the lower rear end of the cover.




5. If removing the left quarter panel, open the fuel door and remove the latch retainer.
6. Remove the remaining attaching bolts from the quarter panel.
7. With all of the bolts removed, pull the rear bottom of the quarter panel outward.
8. If removing the right quarter panel, remove the quarter panel by sliding backward.
9. If removing the left quarter panel, remove the quarter panel by pulling up.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the quarter panel to the body. Position the rear, then the top, then the front.
2. Install ythe bolts loosely.
3. Align the quarter panel with the rear door and the lift gate as necessary.

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Tighten the bolts in sequence as shown in the illustration.
Tighten

Tighten the quarter panel bolts (Wagon) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

5. Close the lift gate and inspect the gap.
6. If installing the left quarter panel, install the fuel door release latch and the retainer.
7. Install the quarter panel fasteners to install the rear of the rocker panel cover.




8. Install the inner wheelhouse panel outer plastic fasteners.




9. Install the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
10. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper in Bumpers.
