ABS/PCM Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement .
  2. Loosen the ABS control module attachment nut at cross car beam and lift ABS control module upward (towards windshield) to disengage. ABS control module from ABS/PCM bracket.
  3. Remove nuts holding ABS/PCM bracket to steering column support bracket.
  4. Remove ABS/PCM bracket.
Installation Procedure

  1. Install ABS/PCM bracket stud through hole in steering column support bracket.
  2. Install and torque nut.
  3. Tighten

    Tighten nut to: 6 N·m (54 lb in)

  4. Lower ABS control module into ABS/PCM bracket while guiding attachement sutd into slot in cross car beam.
  5. Notice

    Torque is critical to preserve the integrity of the plastic insulator on the PCM case. Damage to the PCM can result from over torque of the nut.

  6. Install and tighten nut.
  7. Tighten

    Tighten nut to: 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  8. Install PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement .
