1991-2000 Saturn S-Series vehicles built and including VIN YZ189715
Some customers may comment about a noise coming from the right side of the dash area when the engine is running. this noise is more noticeable when the vehicle is being lightly accelerated or when a vehicle equipped with and automatic transaxle is in Reverse or Drive with the brakes applied.
The rattle noise may be caused by the heater return pipe contacting the front of dash.
Install a foam shim between the heater return pipe and the front of the dash using the procedure in this bulletin.
The foam shim is called "Roof Panel Pad" in the saturn S-Series Parts and Illustration
Catalog. However, it can used for this repair. Important

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians,
NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to
provide information that could assist in the proper service of a
vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment,
tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and
safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the
bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have
that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether
your vehicle may benefit from the information. |
