Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door outer panel. Refer to Outer Panel - Front Door .
2. Partially remove the door insulator at the rear.
3. Disconnect the lock rod from the latch.
4. Remove the retainer and door lock cylinder.

Installation Procedure

Important

The rod retaining clips used in the door lock levers and mechanisms are not re-usable. Retention characteristics are minimized once a rod is extracted. The clips must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.

Important

Incorrect orientation of the retainer will result in improper fit of the outer door panel.

Install the door lock cylinder with the retainer. Install the retainer from the top as shown for the Sedan and Wagon, and from the bottom for the Coupe.

1. Connect the lock rod to the latch.
2. Install the door insulator.
3. Install the door outer panel. Refer to Outer Panel - Front Door .
