Latch Actuator Replacement - Rear door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the outer panel. Refer to "Rear Door Outer Panel - Sedan/Wagon" removal procedures in this manual.
2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
3. Disconnect the actuator from the lock rod.
4. Disconnect the harness.
5. Drive the center pin rearward enough to allow the head of the rivet to be drilled.
6. Drill out the rivets and remove the actuator.
7. Cut the remaining portion of the rivets short and push through the hole in the door assembly.
8. Disconnect the inner trim panel and remove the rivets.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the actuator with the rivets. Connect the harness and connect the actuator to the lock rod.
2. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
3. Install the outer panel. Refer to "Rear Door Outer Panel - Sedan/Wagon" installation procedures in this section.
