Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Shut Off Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the nuts from the combination valve studs.
2. Remove the air hose.
3. Remove the vacuum hoses.
4. Remove the bolt and separate air pump solenoid from the combination valve.
5. Remove the combination valve and gasket from the rear air compressor bracket.

Installation Procedure

Important

Ensure the gaskets are installed correctly or a leak will occur. If the gaskets are removed from the studs, replace with new gaskets.

1. Install the combination valve studs into the rear air compressor bracket through the air pipe flange holes.
2. Install and torque the nuts.
Tighten

Tighten the combination valve studs to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

3. Install the air pump solenoid.
4. Install and torque the bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the air pump solenoid bolt to 3.4 N·m (30 lb in).

5. Install the vacuum hoses.
6. Install the air hose.
