Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the air pump harness connector.
2. Remove the air pump wiring harness from the bracket.
3. Remove the air pump outlet air hose.
4. Remove the air pump bracket bolts.
5. Remove the air pump/bracket assembly from the vehicle.
6. Remove the air pump mounting bolt.
7. Remove the air pump from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the air pump into the air pump bracket.

Notice

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install and torque the bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the air pump-to-air pump bracket to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

3. Install the air pump/bracket assembly into the vehicle.

Important

Ensure the gaskets are installed correctly or a leak will occur. If the gaskets are removed from the studs, replace with new gaskets.

4. Install and torque the bracket bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the air pump bracket-to-body bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

5. Connect the air pump harness connector.
6. Install the air pump wiring harness terminal on the bracket.
