Important

The torque converter should be replaced if the end play measures over the maximum specification or if there has been a hard parts failure such as gears, shafts, or pumps. If there has been only a clutch failure and the torque converter end play is within specifications it is not necessary to replace the torque converter.

1. Install the SA9163T into the converter so that the tool engages with splines.
2. Attach the dial indicator as shown.
3. Lift-up on the T-handle of the tool and check end play.
