Abnormal Wear or Cut on Inboard Edge of Seat Back Cover #00-T-38 - (Dec 19, 2002)

Abnormal Wear or Cut on Inboard Edge of Seat Back Cover (Install Plastic Strip to Inboard Edge of Seat Frame.

1996-2001 S-Series SC1, SL1, and SW1 Models

Condition

Some customers may comment about abnormal wear or a cut on inboard edge of the driver or passenger seat back cover.

Cause

Metal seat back frame is cutting through the seat back cover foam and may be wearing or cutting through seat back cover fabric.

Correction

Use following procedure to install seat back cushion pad fastener (P/N 21045354) on inboard edge of seat frame.

Procedure
  1. Remove the seat back cover from seat back frame.

  2. Object Number: 859274  Size: SH

  3. Install plastic seat back cushion pad fastener strip on inboard edge of seat frame.
  4. Install new seat back cover to the seat back frame.
