Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Ensure the ignition is OFF.
2. Remove the air induction system and the air filter box from the battery tray and move them aside to provide access to the sensor.
3. Disconnect the transaxle fluid temperature sensor harness connector, use pliers to squeeze the connector while removing.
Remove the transaxle fluid temperature sensor.

Installation

1. Apply sealant with Teflon® P/N 21485278 or equivalent on the threads before installing.

Notice

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the transaxle fluid temperature sensor.
Tighten

Tighten the transaxle fluid temperature sensor to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

3. Install the air box and install the three air box bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the air box attachment bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Install the air induction system.
5. Replace any fluid lost.
