Liftgate Adjustment

1. Note the original position of the lift gate latch striker. Remove the striker.
2. For forward or rearward adjustment, loosen the hinge to the roof panel bolts.

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Up and down adjustment can be done with the lift gate to hinge bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the lift gate hinge-to-hinge bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Move the lift gate within the lift gate opening to achieve the best alignment and operation.
5. Install the striker to approximately the proper position.
6. Adjust the striker. If the striker is removed, ensure that the proper amount of shims are in place.
7. Inspect the seals for proper engagement.
Tighten

Tighten the lift gate striker fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
