Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Diagnosis

1. Check solenoid connector for open, spread or corroded terminals.




2. Test solenoid:
1. Remove BTSI solenoid. (Refer to "Brake Transaxle Shift Interlock (BTSI) System" removal procedure in this service manual.)
2. Ground terminal A of the BTSI solenoid and apply 12 volts to terminal B.
• When 12 volts are applied to the BTSI solenoid, the actuator rod should not be able to move.
• If the actuator rod can move with 12 volts applied, replace the BTSI solenoid.
