Release Handle - Rear Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fasteners and pull the rear door release handle out of the opening in the door.
2. Disengage the cables from the rear door release handle.

Installation Procedure

1. Inspect the gasket on the rear door release handle for damage or tears. If it is not intact, remove it and all adhesive material from the handle, clean the surface, and install a new gasket to the handle.




2. Engage the cables to the rear door release handle.

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Important

Be sure to route the cable under the cable guide feature of the handle.

3. Install the rear door release handle to the door.
Tighten

Tighten the rear side door release handle fasteners (Coupe) to 2.5 N·m (23 lb in).

4. Check the operation. Both the upper and lower latches must release prior to the release handle reaching the end of its travel.
