Failing to follow the following procedures could result in serious personal
injury or property damage. Always disconnect the negative battery (ground) lead when replacing components
on a vehicle. Remove rings, watches and all other jewelry. When working around the battery, always shield your eyes. Avoid leaning over
the battery if possible. Do not allow battery fluid to contact eyes, skin, fabrics or painted surfaces;
battery fluid is a corrosive acid. Flush any contacted area with water immediately
and thoroughly, and get medical help. Be careful that metal tools or jumper cables do not contact the positive battery
terminal (or metal in contact with terminal) and any other metal on the vehicle; a
short could occur. Do not expose a battery to open flames or sparks (including lit tobacco). Batteries
produce a gas which is flammable and explosive. Never wear loose or baggy clothing around moving machinery. Remove ties and
any hanging jewelry, and tie back long hair.Caution
