Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Bushing Replacement

Tools Required
• KM-671 Bushing Remover/Installer
• KM-906B Bushing Remover/Installer Kit

Disassembly Procedure

1. Place the control arm in a suitable vise.
2. Remove the rear axle control arm bracket bolt and nut. Discard the bolt and nut.




3. Using the KM-671 , KM-906-62 and KM-906-61, press out the rear axle upper and lower control arm bushings.




4. Using the KM-671 , KM-906-41 and KM-906-44, press out the rear axle control arm front bushing.

Assembly Procedure

1. Using the KM-671 , KM-906-42, and KM-906-43, install the rear axle control arm front bushing.




2. Using the KM-671 , KM-906-64, and KM-906-63, install the upper and lower rear axle control arm bushings.





Important

A new nut and bolt must be used. Tighten retention of the old nut and bolt may not be sufficient.

3. Install the rear axle control arm bracket using the new bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the rear axle control arm bracket-to-knuckle to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
