Removal Procedure

1. Record the preset radio stations.
2. Turn the ignition OFF.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution

Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the CKP sensor harness connector.
6. Remove the attachment bolt and the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure

1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor in the engine block.

Notice

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the CKP sensor attachment bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the crankshaft position sensor bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

4. Connect the CKP sensor harness connector. Push in the connector until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Reset the clock and the preset radio stations.
