Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door 2nd-Design Sedan/Wagon

Removal Procedure

1. Remove rear carpet retainer.




2. Noting position, slowly separate and remove weatherstrip from door opening starting at the seal joint at bottom of the door opening.

Installation Procedure

1. Clean old adhesive off of flange area.




2. Remove rip-cord from new seal by pulling at the exposed end. This rip cord is a production assembly aid and is not required for service.




3. Partially remove lock pillar lower trim finish molding.





Important

For proper sealing, rigid portion of weatherstrip approximately 191 mm 7 1/2 in must be located at top front corner as shown in illustration.

4. Start seal over flange area in position noted above. Press weatherstrip over flange firmly to seat it.
5. Tuck seal lip under the lock pillar lower trim finish molding and install molding.
6. Tuck seal lip under the center pillar upper and lower finish panels.
7. Install rear carpet retainer.




8. Verify the rear door weatherstrip seal lip is covering the headliner and the body lock pillar upper garnish molding as shown in illustration.
