Transaxle Case Disassemble

Tools Required
• SA9133T Axle Seal Puller
• SA9173G Slide Hammer

1. Remove the axle seal retainer snap ring.
2. Remove the axle seal using SA9133T by threading puller through steel seal body as close to outside diameter as possible.
3. Remove the manual shift shaft oil seal by prying out with a screwdriver.




4. Remove the input and output shaft bearings from case using snap ring pliers to expand snap ring only far enough to slide bearing out of its bore by hand.





Important

The shaft contains O-rings which may cause difficulty in removing shaft. Rotating shaft while pulling will aid in removal.

5. Remove the reverse idler assembly.
1. Remove the reverse idler gear shaft cap bolts.
2. Remove the cap.
3. Remove the idler gear shaft.
4. Remove the idler gear and bearing.




6. Unless the filter bypass valve is physically damaged, there is no need to remove it. This valve will be damaged upon removal. To remove use SA9103E and SA9173G .
